David Bardwell, DMD MS, Owner

Dr. David N. Bardwell is an owner and general dentist at Merrimack Valley Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Bardwell is a 1985 Graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his D.M.D. degree. He also did his Dental Postgraduate training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his Masters in Dental Science Research degree(MS).
He is a Fellow in the American and International College of Dentists as well as the Academy of General Dentistry. He is an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Operative Dentistry. Dr. Bardwell is a member in good standing of, the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, International and American Association for Dental Research and Academy of Operative Dentistry.
Dr. Bardwell has lectured nationally for the last 17 years. He is is a Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry in the Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bardwell has maintained his Faculty member since November of 1991. Dr. Bardwell also conducts Clinical Research and has presented papers and abstracts at IADR & AADR annual sessions in the area of Dental Bio-materials. He has published many articles in various peer revue journals in the area of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry as well.
Dr. Bardwell teaches and lectures in the areas of adhesive dentistry specifically techniques for successful direct and indirect posterior composites(tooth colored fillings). He also bases his interest and lectures in Treatment Plan modalities for successful Porcelain Laminate Veneers and its impact on Smile Design. Dr. Bardwell has devoted extensive time and research in the area of tooth lightening (Bleaching).

Justin Cardarelli, DMD, Owner, Dentist

Dr. Justin J. Cardarelli is an owner and general dentist at Merrimack Valley Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Cardarelli was born and raised in nearby Tewksbury, MA. Dr. Cardarelli grew up working for his father's carpentry business. It was from his father that Dr. Cardarelli learned the importance of being an honest, hard worker and that as long as you treat people right you will continue to be successful in anything that you do. He grew to appreciate the long standing relationships that his father had with his clients and the satisfaction of making something with your own two hands that was both functional and esthetic. Dr. Cardarelli's mother served as a nurse throughout Massachusetts until her retirement in 2009. Spending time with her at the different offices she would work at opened his eyes to a potential career in medicine. During his junior year at Tewksbury Memorial High School, Dr. Cardarelli shadowed his family dentist for a work study program. He felt he had found his perfect blend of medicine, service, and art in dentistry.
Dr. Cardarelli attended the University of New Hampshire where he became a contributing member of the pre-dental society. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Biology from UNH in 2009, Dr. Cardarelli took a dental research position at Tufts University. While studying teeth at a genetic level, Dr. Cardarelli would find time to continue to work at several dental offices as a dental intern.
Dr. Cardarelli graduated Tufts University in 2015. Dr. Cardarelli is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He is a contributing member of local Spear Study groups. Dr. Cardarelli holds clinical and pre-clinical faculty positions at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the Comprehensive Care and Operative Dentistry departments.

Carolyn Schweitzer, DDS, Associate 
Dr. Carolyn Schweitzer grew up in Connecticut and New York, the daughter of an English teacher and a science teacher. She learned from both parents to be an avid student and from her mother, to love science and arts & crafts.
Dr. Schweitzer graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors in Biology, then attended the State University of New York Dental School at Buffalo, where she also completed a hospital residency.
She then moved to Massachusetts to be near her brother, who promptly moved to LA.
Dr. Schweitzer has been practicing general dentistry since 1984. She loves being a dentist and feels that dentistry is the perfect blend of art, science, and helping people. She believes that as long as you stay curious and keep learning, your career will always be exciting. As a result, she has done hundreds of hours of continuing education.
In 2018 the doctor graduated from The VIVOS Institute in Denver Colorado where she learned to identify the warning signs of sleep apnea and similar sleep related disorders, which are often first identified during a dental exam. She also learned how facial growth and development affect a person’s health and function. Dr. Schweitzer takes an interest in her patient’s total health.
Dr. Schweitzer has also recently joined the faculty of Tufts Dental School as a part time clinical instructor.
Dr. Carolyn loves to sing, and often sings or hums while she works, which her patients find very relaxing. She is married with one son and two cats and the whole family likes to go rock climbing together (except the cats).
Christopher Rizkallah, DMD, Associate
Dr. Christopher M. Rizkallah is a general dentist at Merrimack Valley Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Rizkallah was born and raised in nearby Methuen, MA and was a patient of the practice ever since he was a child. Dr. Rizkallah realized his love for dentistry when he was a student in high school after shadowing his mentors Dr. Bardwell and Dr. Cardarelli.
Dr. Rizkallah graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut’s Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Materials Science and Engineering before attending Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with a Cum Laude distinction. While at the University of Connecticut Dr. Rizkallah was an active member in his school’s pre-dental society and helped organize multiple dental related fundraisers.
In his free time Dr. Rizkallah is an avid Boston sports fan and loves attending Celtics and Patriots games as well as discussing the latest Boston sports news with Dr. Cardarelli. Aside from watching sports, Dr. Rizkallah likes to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
Andres Pinto-Pro, DMD, Associate
Dr. Andres Pinto-Pro is one of our newest doctors who joined the practice in August of 2023. He is a native Spanish speaker, despite having been born in Boston, MA and being raised in nearby Needham, MA! Andres’ parents came to the United States from their native home of Venezuela to pursue further medical training, after which they ultimately decided to settle down in the Boston area permanently. Witnessing his mom and dad’s efforts in caring for their patients and serving the community at-large led Andres to pursue a career in the healthcare field.
Dr. Pinto-Pro received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2018 and subsequently went on to obtain his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in May 2022. In June of 2023, he completed a post-doctoral program in the department of Advanced Education in General Dentistry, also at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Pinto-Pro is committed to delivering the highest possible quality care in preventative, restorative, and emergency dentistry.
Andres is a passionate sports fan who loves to follow American professional sports, collegiate football and basketball, as well as soccer at the European and international level. His favorite teams to watch and keep up with are the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. Aside from sports, Andres enjoys spending time with his friends and family, listening to music, traveling, and going on runs with his black lab named Kodak.
